(hide this warning on this page)The Center for Advanced Research Computing (CARC) is an interdisciplinary community at the University of New Mexico (UNM) that uses computational resources to create new research insights. We offer the following services:
1. Capital hardware is the cost of major equipment, and is excluded from F&A. These rates can be used to estimate expenses, but this will be billed based on actual cost from the vendor(s).
2. Installation is the cost of non-major equipment – things like racks, power supplies, and the like. Depending on the size of the purchase, some items in this category may be shared resources and are priced accordingly. As these items are tied to the capital equipment, this cost is also excluded from F&A.
3. Service is the cost of CARC staff required to administer systems or provide individualized support. Note service is subject to F&A if purchased via a grant; purchases made with unrestricted funds are not.
4. Access for users that are external to main campus- this access provides a project cost and per user cost for those who are not part of UNM Main Campus but who would like access to CARC clusters and basic compute resources.
